Searching for something a little different for your next team-building activity? Coworker Feud is an ideal alternative to the usual team-building exercises. Inspired by the long-running Family Feud game show, this quirky take on a classic format will bring remote employees together, encourage communication, and raise morale.

Wondering how you can play Coworker Feud virtually? Read on for everything you need to know.

Coworker Feud Explained

This workplace-inspired twist on Family Feud borrows many elements from the original, with two teams competing against each other to come out on top.

The game is built around survey questions, with teams tasked with coming up with what they think are the most popular answers. To make life simple, you can use your employees to source survey answers before you start playing.

Rather than play the Fast Money round for big prizes, Coworker Feud is designed to strengthen team bonds and encourage collaboration. What’s more, survey questions tend to be geared around the workplace itself. The game can be played in any office, but it’s a particularly good choice for businesses that operate remotely

How to Play Coworker Feud

Is team camaraderie dead in the water? With a game of virtual-friendly Coworker Feud, it’s easy to turn a fragmented team into a well-oiled workforce. Never played Coworker Feud before? Getting started couldn’t be simpler.

Step 1: Divide Your Workforce into Teams

Coworker Feud suits businesses of any size. However, you’ll need enough participants to create at least two teams. Ideally, you’ll want 4-5 players assigned to each team. If your workforce is much larger, you’ll need to create additional teams and run simultaneous games. Alternatively, you can host a knockout tournament, with winning teams progressing to the next stage.

Rather than let people choose their own teams, assign participants to teams at random. This way, you’ll encourage people who’ve never connected before to start working collaboratively with other employees.

Step 2: Create Your Game Session

You won’t be able to play Coworker Feud virtually without a good video conferencing solution, so you’ll need to select a suitable platform before you go any further. With Gloww, all the tools you need for a successful team-building event are at hand. What’s more, you don’t even have to worry about creating a session from scratch thanks to Gloww’s ready-made Coworker Feud template. You can use the existing questions for inspiration, or customize your session with your own.

Step 3: Pick a Host

Every game show needs a great host. To ensure your event is a success, you’ll want to pick someone who’s up to the task. You’ll need someone with excellent communication skills and the confidence to speak in front of large groups. Timing is everything, and they’ll also need to be able to fire up employees to keep engagement levels high.

Step 4: Prepare Survey Answers

As with Family Feud, Coworker Feud hinges on survey questions and answers. Select 10-20 questions, then survey everyone in your workforce to get your answers.

Step 5: Start Playing!

Coworker Feud is fairly straightforward. The host asks a question before letting teams confer to agree on what they think is the most likely answer. Correctly guessing top-ranking answers secures maximum points, although anything from the top five will earn a reward. If a team fails to name a single corresponding answer, the rival team gets a shot at guessing.

You can bring things to a close once you’ve asked every question, or wrap things up with a Family Feud-inspired Fast money round. First, two members from the winning team are picked. One player is locked out of the session, while the other gives answers to five questions. Then, the second player returns to the game to answer the same five questions. However, matching answers aren’t allowed.
